PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Brendan Sjostedt, Assabet
The Wizards downed Assabet twice and Seacoast went 2-1, splitting a pair of games with the Glades. Liam Gorman scored twice, Sal Frelick had 1-1-2 and Jake Pinard pitched a shutout as the Wizards topped the Avs, 4-0 – and Gorman delivered 2-1-3, Frelick scored twice, Mike Tobin posted 1-1-2, Kevin Demore had two assists and Ryan Welch pitched a 7-0 shutout over the same team; Sean Brown scored the winner with 2:41 left to give Seacoast a 4-3 decision over the Glades, Jonathan Saklad with 1-1-2 and Ben Peffer two assists in the win and Haskins two goals in the loss; Matt Farrell delivered 2-1-3 and Brown had two assists in a 5-2 victory over the Rangers – and Citera and Moore shared the shutout and Hodde scored with 4:23 left to give Vermont a 1-0 win over the Spartans;
In the other game, the Warriors defeated the Vipers, 6-3.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Liam Gorman, Wizards
The Titans won three times, sweeping a pair from the ’02 Avalanche, the Wizards went 2-1, splitting a pair of games with the Glades, and the ’02 Advantage had a win and a tie (to go with a loss). Paul Trippany and Egan Schmitt (two goals) scored 1:11 apart in the third period and Connor Carroll had 1-1-2 as the Titans beat the Avs, 4-2; Carroll scored the winner with 7:11 left, Hunter Penrick scored twice and Jake Sternbach had two assists in a 3-3 victory over the same team – and Schmidt wore the hat and had an assist, Sternbach posted 2-2-4 and Matt Carlson 1-1-2 in a 7-1 win over the Blazers; Shea Grant pitched a shutout and James Demeo scored early as the Wizards topped the Rangers, 2-0; Jeff Truax scored twice in the third period to lead the Glades to a 4-2 decision over the Wizards, who got 1-1-2 apiece from Cade Nagahama and John Fusco – and Demeo’s second goal of the game, with 38 seconds left, gave the Wizards a 6-5 victory over the Glades, Ben Murphy with a hat trick and Fusco and Ryan Bell two assists apiece in the win and Jonah Janaro and Nicky Niemo 1-1-2 apiece in the loss; the ’02 Advantage edged the Rangers, 1-0 – and Lowe scored with 5:40 left and again with 38.4 seconds on the clock to give the Advantage a 3-3 tie with the Cyclones;
Matt Hulse had two goals and an assist, Jared Mscisz also scored twice and Nick Cafarelli posted 1-1-2 as the Warriors downed the ’01 Advantage, 6-2; the ’01 Advantage downed the Cyclones, 7-1; and Jordan Howell and Ethan Messner shared the shutout and Eric Favreau scored with 10:20 left as the ’01 Avalanche edged the ’02 Avs, 1-0.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Schmitt, Sternbach, Wizards
The Blazers won three times, two of the victories over the Glades. Thorndike scored two goals and set up two others, Rooney posted a goal and three assists and Grimes a goal and an assists in a 4-2 win over the Vipers; Grimes and Rooney both had 1-1-2 in a 4-1 victory over the Glades – and Hutchinson clicked for 2-2-4 in a 6-2 win over Vermont;
John Hoins scored with 5:41 left to give the Vipers a 2-2 tie with the Wizards; No. 19 scored four goals and had two assists, Cy LeClerc scored two goals and set up four others, Sam MacFarland had 2-1-3 and No. 16 posted 1-2-3 in Seacoast’s 10-4 win over the Rangers, who got 1-1-2 apiece from Stephen Ingram and Pat Somerville; Ryan Hart came through with 2-2-4 and Pat Moran, Julian Yang and Alex Furry all posted 1-2-3 as the Warriors downed the Sharks, 8-2 – Mitch Proudhomme with both goals in the loss; and the Advantage defeated the Titans, 5-0.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Rooney, Blazers
The Warriors had a win and a tie. Tom Sacco scored twice and Adam Heinze, Drew Blackwell and Parker Defeo all posted 1-1-2 in a 9-4 win over the Cyclones, who got 1-1-2 from Will O’Keefe – and Chris O’Grady scored with 54 seconds left in the second period and Colin Van Stry followed with his second goal of the game 24 seconds later as the Warriors pulled out a 3-3 tie with the Avalanche, who got two goals from Cooper Flinton;
John Beatrice scored two goals and set up two others, Nolan Vigeant clicked for 2-1-3 and Jack Ehrgott for 1-2-3 as the Rangers topped the Vipers, 5-2; Gregg Dennison and No. 6 scored 27 seconds apart later to give Assabet a 6-6 tie with the Wizards – Will Canavan with two goals for the Patriots and Dom Hall 1-2-3, Nolan Duffy three assists and Brendan Gornan two goals for the Wizards; and Aaron Bono, Gavin Simopoulos and Mike Symanski all went for 1-1-2 in Seacoast’s 5-1 victory over the Avalanche.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: John Beatrice, Rangers
The Sharks won twice and the Advantage defeated the Monarchs twice. Donovan Frias scored twice, Brady Sawyer had a goal and an assist and Julian Frias two assists as the Sharks topped the Rangers, 5-1 – and Donovan Frias and Sam Miele both posted 2-1-3, Sawyer had 1-1-2 and Julian Frias two assists in an 8-1 victory over the Warriors; the Advantage scored 7-3 and 10-5 wins over the Monarchs;
Cam Fici wore the hat and Ben MacDonald posted 1-2-3 in the Wizards’ 6-3 win over Seacoast; and Dane Carter went for 2-2-4, Dylan Cianci had 1-2-3, Andrew Welch also scored twice and Cam Humphrey had 1-1-2 in Assabet’s 6-1 victory over the Warriors.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Donovan Frias, Sharks
The Wizards and Leafs both had a win and a tie. Brendan Powers had a goal and an assist early and Ben Cook scored what turned out to be the winner with 2:01 left in the second period of the Wizards’ 4-2 victory over the Chiefs, who got 1-1-2 from Jake Vana – and Otto McLaughlin was in goal for the Wizards and Tyler Bloomfield for Assabet in a 0-0 tie; No. 19 delivered 2-1-3, No. 14 also scored twice and No. 88 had 1-1-2 as the Leafs downed the Titans, 7-3 – and Joe Bucci ended a Griffin Davis shutout with 3:31 left to give the Chiefs a 1-1 tie with the Leafs, who got a second-period goal from Noah Zeman;
In the other game, Danny Storella scored twice and Emerson Marshall had two assists as the Stars defeated the Chiefs, 4-2.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: McLaughlin, Wizards and Bloomfield, Assabet
The Lightning won twice. Jay Carter scored two goals and set up another, Joe Monteiro also tallied twice, Teddy Stiga and Matt Welch both had a goal and an assist and Nick Argento two assists in a 7-4 win over the Chiefs, who got 1-2-3 from Aiden Pinet – and the Lightning scored a big win over the Wizards;
The Titans and Ice Den split two games. Nick Lazzaro wore the hat and had two assists, John Bennett scored one goal and set up three others and Hunter Belisle posted 1-2-3 as the Titans won, 7-3, Zach Famiglietti with two goals and Mack Tripp had two assists in the loss – and Ryan Sullivan scored both goals in Ice Den’s 2-1 decision; Cooper Gaudio scored four straight goals and had an assist, Matt Cabral scored twice and Ty Washam added two assists as the NE Jets downed the Stars, 7-0; and McGonagle’s second goal of the game, with 1:34 left, gave the Stars a 5-5 tie with the Chiefs – D’Antona with 1-1-2 for the Stars and Griffin Bucci a hat trick and an assist for the Chiefs.
